new on the block

Hi.  My name is Faye and I am one of the Administrators for our forums here at ParetoLogic.

I am a blog rookie!

I have never done this type of sharing of thoughts so am feeling quite lost about it all.

You wouldn’t believe how long it has taken me to get this little bit down.

Anyhow, opinions I have so perhaps I can offer some interesting/irritating/amusing reads and someone can help me out with a response or two?

We’ll see…….

Yeah, I know that everyone and their dog has a Facebook page. Even though lots of people, including many of my friends, have a Facebook page, I don’t. I find that if I want to communicate with my friends or family I can just use MSN or even the phone. I also don’t see why people accept friend requests from people they don’t even know. I also find it unsafe - if you are not careful people can find out a lot of information about you. If I want to make new friends, I prefer to meet them face to face.

The same reasons go to MySpace and why I don’t have a MySpace page. I know there are some good things about having a Facebook page but in my opinion there is not enough good things to outweigh the bad things. Well those are the reasons why I don’t have a Facebook page. You might have a different opinion, so speak up (or post a reply!). I challenge you to make me change my mind!

That’s my 2 cents!

One of the most popular electronic devices on the market today are MP3 players. With an MP3 player you can listen to all your favourite songs on the go or even at home. People use MP3 players for many different uses, some use one while working, while some others use one while exercising. They even have MP3 players for little children. There are many different companies that make MP3 players but Apple’s Ipod is the most popular. There are many different types of Ipods (Nano, Mini, Video and Shuffle). Apple is even making new Ipods and improvements to older models. The most popular type of the Ipod is the Nano - it is very slim and it has a reasonable memory size. There’s another important thing about MP3 players - the memory size. They can range from 256 megabytes to over 60 gigabytes, thats 60,000 megabytes!

I too have an MP3 player,I don’t have an Ipod though. I have one called the Sansa, made by the company Sandisk. What I like about mine is that it has lots of features. Video, FM radio, voice recorder, picture gallery, and you can’t forget the purpose of the MP3 player…music! Before, not many of the Ipods could play videos but now more and more of them can. With a little research, you can find the perfect MP3 player for you!

Myspace, Facebook

October 30th, 2007

Hi again, today I would like to talk about websites like Myspace and Facebook. They can be great fun and a way to share your opinions on different issues. It is also a way to have fun with friends but there are many dangers of going on websites like these. There are some bad people who use these websites to find people and you have to remember that people can figure out where you are by looking at your pictures or figuring out little clues like that . You should be careful about what you post about your self or your friends because you don’t know what kind of information you might give away that could be risky.Always check messages that are left for you on your pages to make sure that it doesn’t give away any personal information and won’t make you look bad if someone like, oh I don’t know, your grandmother or teacher happens to see it. You should also get your parent or gaurdians permission before posting things about your self or friends because sometimes they really do know something about what is a good choice and what isn’t. Just remember, that just like when you say or do something in real life, when you post something on the Internet you might not be able to undo it.So stay safe, keep your personal information to yourself, and be kind with what you post to other people.
